The main functions of the cutting gas are: combustion support and heat dissipation, blowing off slag, preventing slag splash from rebounding into the nozzle, damaging the protective lens or focusing lenses, etc.

2. If the air pressure is too large and the hole diameter is too large, the plate will heat up, easily causing blast holes and unstable perforation;

● Oxygen (carbon steel, copper)

Carbon steel: laser is used as preheating heat source, and oxygen is used as cutting gas. Oxygen reacts with metal to release a large amount of oxidation heat, and at the same time blows molten oxide and melt out of the reaction zone to form an incision in the metal;
Copper: Copper is a highly reflective material. High-pressure oxygen cutting is used. Copper and oxygen undergo partial oxidation reaction, which helps to reduce the laser reflection back to the laser.

Almost all metals can be cut with nitrogen. The cutting characteristics are: there is no oxide layer on the cutting edge and no subsequent treatment is required. The disadvantage is that the laser energy requirement is higher than flame cutting, the gas pressure is higher, and the cutting thickness is relatively limited. In addition, the higher the laser power, the thicker carbon steel can be cut with nitrogen without slag.

Almost all metals can be cut with air assistance. Compared with nitrogen cutting, the cutting speed is faster and the cutting cost is lower, but the cutting surface is grayish black, and the air compressor filter needs to be replaced regularly; aluminum, brass and galvanized sheet use air cutting instead of nitrogen cutting, which is beneficial to reduce the laser reflection back to the laser.

2) Cutting gas consumption

Estimation of cutting gas consumption: The consumption during standard pressure cutting and high-pressure cutting is listed below, so that the required cutting gas can be roughly estimated.
Reduce gas consumption. The data accumulation of machine tools can be used to make different estimates for the determined material variety and material thickness.
Standard pressure cutting: Standard pressure cutting is cutting where the pressure at the nozzle outlet is less than 6 bar. Oxygen or nitrogen is required as cutting gas.
For standard pressure cutting with O2, the flow pressure available at the machine connection is at least 8 bar (at gas consumption of 10 Nm3/h, nozzle outlet Ø1.7mm, and the cutting air pressure is 6 bar).
High-pressure cutting: High-pressure cutting refers to cutting where the pressure at the nozzle is greater than 6 bar. Generally speaking, nitrogen is used as cutting gas. In rare cases, nitrogen is used as cutting gas.
Oxygen is also used in this case. High-pressure cutting is offered as an option for machining stainless steel and aluminum alloy profiles.

Installation and commissioning of chiller
---Pressure: minimum 1.5kgf/cm2, maximum 3 kgf/cm2.
---Inlet and outlet water pressure difference: at least 2kgf/cm2 or more.
---Temperature control range: 20±2°---22±2°.
---Cooling water: pure water, distilled water or deionized water without minerals (mineral water is prohibited);
---Valves and pipes: all stainless steel or high-pressure hoses, galvanized materials cannot be used, and stainless steel clamps are used for pipe joints.
---External laser water pipe: special water pipe for fiber laser (attached to the laser). If the length of the chiller pipe exceeds 10 meters, the pipe diameter must be increased to ensure the pressure difference required by the laser. Different lasers have different connection specifications and sizes of each pipe.
---Other cooling water pipes: pay attention to the sealing of the pipe joints.
a)Installation conditions

The chiller should be installed in a place that is protected from rain and snow and has no corrosive gases and an ambient temperature of 2-38℃. During the installation process, sufficient ventilation space should be left for the unit's inlet and outlet. The top of the unit should be more than 2.5 meters away from other objects, and the surrounding area of ​​the unit should be more than 1.5 meters away from other objects to ensure smooth air flow. It is strictly forbidden to install the unit in an unventilated closed room. It must be ensured that the hot air blown out by the chiller does not flow back to the unit's condenser air inlet surface after being discharged.
b) Machine inspection
First clean the debris in the water tank to ensure that the water tank is clean and free of impurities; then check whether the joints of the water pipe system are loose.
c) Installation method
Connect the inlet and outlet water pipes to the inlet and outlet of the laser according to the mark on the shell of the chiller, and pay attention to the direction of the inlet and outlet. Do not misalign the inlet and outlet directions of the water pipes. Before connecting the water pipe, ensure that there is no garbage and foreign matter in the external pipe, and
after connection, the pipe is not forcibly folded at the bend.
d) Water quality standard

Open the water inlet valve and add water to the water tank. The water level should be 30mm-50mm lower than the upper edge of the water tank to prevent water from overflowing from the water tank. Chillers are not allowed to use tap water. Mineral-free purified water, distilled water or deionized water must be used. Otherwise, scaling will occur on the chiller and the laser radiator, damaging the components of the machine. It is forbidden to add any corrosive liquid or antifreeze of non-specified brands.
